The Global Festival of Arts includes a series of Global Festival of Arts, Showcases @ Pinewood Studios, workshops & networking events supported by a global members’ platform – the Network Members’ Hub.
\nThroughout the year-long celebrationa of indie film, the Global Festival of Arts aims to identify projects and award nominations for the Global Festival of Arts Awards. The Season’s final event held at Pinewood Studios, the Season Awards recognises the best-of-the-best and promotes the filmmaking talent from within the projects.
\nPrevious Season Awards Winners have gone on to win Oscars and acquire global distribution deals. But beyond the headline successes are countless stories of creative development, inspiration and collaborations with a true indie spirit from within the Network.

The Global Festival of Arts Awards is an annual event celebrating the best of the best from the Global Festival of Arts. SA Nominations screen at Global Festival of Arts HQ in Pinewood Studios throughout the event & the celebration culminates with an award ceremony recognising the best films in each category.<\/p>\n

Season Award Nominations are awarded to outstanding projects placed on the shortlist throughout the Global Festival of Arts. Each festival screens a diverse range of projects and talents during a month-long event comprising online screenings & in-person networking sessions.* During the screenings, the Official Selections are invited to join the Global Festival of Arts Network Hub, to access focus groups and online workshops throughout the event.<\/p>\n

Each year the Global Festival of Arts Network of film festivals screen hundreds of incredible films from a diverse range of artists that all deserve praise. Throughout the Season, we aim to discover and publicise the very best from this pool of talent and give those filmmakers the recognition they deserve.<\/p>\n

There are two judging rounds before Official Selections are allocated. In the first round, the Official Judging Panel reviews the submissions & assesses them across ten categories. The categories considered are: Originality \/ Creativity, Direction, Writing, Cinematography, Performances, Production Value, Pacing, Structure, Sound & Music. Round 2 places the projects into the Official Selection online programmes.<\/p>\n

During the festival, the Official Selections are again reviewed by the Judging Panel whilst also receiving votes from the attending audiences throughout the festival.<\/p>\n

After the festival closes, the weighted scores are combined, and the top-scoring films are promoted into the internal Network Round. The Network Round is hosted on the Global Festival of Arts Network Hub, where the Global Festival of Arts Jury and Network Hub Members score the films once again and vote for the winners.<\/p>\n

After the festival closes, the winners are announced, the prizes awarded, and deserving projects are placed on the Season Award Nominations Shortlist. The Showcases, held at Pinewood Studios, are quarterly events aimed at screening & workshopping indie content from unsung talents and introducing producers to exciting new projects. Film showcases consist of an out-of-competition screening followed by a focus group & feedback session. Screenwriter showcases consist of script readings with professional actors, followed by a focus group centred around the next stages of development.<\/p>\n

Whilst the screenings are out-of-competition, deserving projects may be promoted to the shortlist for the Global Festival of Arts Awards.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Founded in 2011, the Global Festival of Arts Network champions true indie filmmaking. The Global Festival of Arts\u00a0 promotes up-and-coming voices and provides a space for collaboration and support towards the next step.<\/p>\n

Global Festival of Arts Filmmaker Sessions & First-Time Filmmaker Sessions are designed to be the entry into the Global Festival of Arts Network. These free-to-submit competitions are held in a monthly online showcase dedicated to screening a collection of globally submitted indie shorts and features (of all genres) from new voices to our global audiences.<\/p>\n

Global Festival of Arts isn’t about selecting the best possible shorts or features from the films submitted to us; it is about providing a screening opportunity for everyone. An option we hope highlights and educates every month.<\/p>\n

All selections will get an invaluable opportunity to engage with a wide range of contemporaries’ work while supporting indie film and its continued success.<\/p>\n<\/div>
